When Sinners Say "I Do" Discovering the Power of the Gospel for Marriage

The gospel is something we need in every area of our lives.  In marriage and in singleness.  In joy and in sorrow.  In good times and in hard times.  When life feels good and when life feels confusing.  This book showed so much of my need for Jesus and His grace. It calls us to look at our own sins and not be so easy to point out the sins of those around us.   It shows the great gravity of our sins.  We can all tend to point fingers and defend or blame our sins on others or life circumstances.  I think especially today it is so easy to do this and not truly see our sins.  "It is wrong, not because of what it does to me, or my spouse, or child, or neighbor, but because it is an act of rebellion against the infinitely holy and majestic God." -Jerry Bridges "There can be no small sins against a great God." -J.I. Packer Dave Harvey mentions in the book that with true sorrow of our "little sins", our awareness of God and His mercy grow. Be quick to see our own

Hiding in the Light-

I loved this book!  It is a true story of a young Islamic girl who converted to Christianity when she was 12 years old.  Her whole life testifies of God's grace and the way He works in every single one of our lives.  Rifqa Bary was brought to the U.S. in 2000 where she learned about Jesus Christ through friends, which lead to her conversion.  She had to hid her faith from her family for many years.
She made headlines in 2009 when she ran away from her home in Ohio to escape the threats of her father.

The Fairest Beauty-

Sophie has been stuck with her cruel stepmother her whole life until a stranger comes surprising her with the most unusual news.  Can she trust Gabe to keep her safe and take her to his home safely, where her betrothed is waiting for her?  Will she be able to keep her heart from falling in love with Gabe?
This book was so much fun, I loved the fairy tale twist.

The Thirteenth Princess-

Zita is the thirteenth daughter of a king who only wanted sons.  Her father is so heartbroken of his lose that he banishes his youngest daughter to the servants quarters.
Zita works here happily even after she finds out that she is a princess.  She learns how to get close to her twelve sisters and avoid her father.
But soon after her twelfth birthday something happens to her sisters and she must find out what is wrong before they all die.
