The Battle Between Truth & Feelings

"The worst battle I've ever fought is between what I knew and what I felt." How true is this?  Emotions and feelings can feel so like truth.  They can be so blinding, leading us on a goose chase to get what we think (feel) we need.  They become the thing we live for and strive after.  They can lead you away from good friendships, from the truth you grew up learning, running from good and clear counsel.  It's so dangerous to chase after your feelings, believe them to be truth over everything else- over true wisdom, truth, honesty, true love and friendship, and blind you to follow after the worlds version of truth or what your heart wants.  How scary is that.  What we know is truth... We know as believers that God's word is the only source of truth.  It is our anchor, our truth, what we live by.  When the world feeds us lies and these half-truths fueled to feed our sinful desires, we can always turn to God's word to lead us and guide us in our lives.

July Books

Hiding in the Light-

I loved this book!  It is a true story of a young Islamic girl who converted to Christianity when she was 12 years old.  Her whole life testifies of God's grace and the way He works in every single one of our lives.  Rifqa Bary was brought to the U.S. in 2000 where she learned about Jesus Christ through friends, which lead to her conversion.  She had to hid her faith from her family for many years.
She made headlines in 2009 when she ran away from her home in Ohio to escape the threats of her father.

The Fairest Beauty-

Sophie has been stuck with her cruel stepmother her whole life until a stranger comes surprising her with the most unusual news.  Can she trust Gabe to keep her safe and take her to his home safely, where her betrothed is waiting for her?  Will she be able to keep her heart from falling in love with Gabe?
This book was so much fun, I loved the fairy tale twist.

The Thirteenth Princess-

Zita is the thirteenth daughter of a king who only wanted sons.  Her father is so heartbroken of his lose that he banishes his youngest daughter to the servants quarters.
Zita works here happily even after she finds out that she is a princess.  She learns how to get close to her twelve sisters and avoid her father.
But soon after her twelfth birthday something happens to her sisters and she must find out what is wrong before they all die.
